A scroll of past and present memories with ballet.
After spotting the exhibit slowdancing by David Michalek on my way to the New York Ballet, I was mesmerized by the beauty captured in those motion shots. I sat and watched while flashes of my past experience with ballet started to appear, and wrote a piece as an exhibition review.
I made another trip back to the theatre to admire the exhibition again and capture still images of the moving dancers, then created this overlay of images of my ballerina past and the moments of the present ballerinas with vellum paper.
Medium: vellum and ink.
